Don Bishop is the senior University administrator responsible for Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Pre-College and Early Outreach programs.
He started his career in admissions at Notre Dame in 1977 and left in 1985 to take on the senior enrollment leadership roles at Ohio Wesleyan University, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Creighton University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Between these university positions he also gained a perspective on corporate America when he served as the vice president for senior officer employments at a multi-billion dollar corporation.
Don has focused his research on attributes that predict success in academic achievement and corporate/community leadership. He redesigned Notre Dame’s selection process in the 1980s and upon his return in 2010, updated the University’s recruitment and selection model. His favorite quote is: “I use numbers to prove numbers are too often overused…and I have the numbers to prove that.”
Don earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Notre Dame. He is also a former member of the board of directors for the Notre Dame Alumni Association.
